OUR ROLE
The Refurbishment and Improvement of council facilities
THE PROJECT
A Fast track office and commercial refurbishment to Enfield Council’s civic centre, covering an area of more than 2000m2.
Meticulous planning was required since this very busy building had to remain fully operational at all times.
The contract therefore had linked phases and involved out of hours working.
Phase one was a refurbishment of a large office space to include new interview rooms (one being to PACE standards); the installation of automated customer queuing systems; high tech BMS (Building Management Systems); lighting and controls and miscellaneous works to DDA compliance.
Phase two included the refurbishment of the cashiers department, more interview rooms and new WC facilities.
The remaining phases involved the refurbishment of isolated areas in the Civic Centre with new upgraded services.
By far, the most challenging phase was the refurbishment of the main entrance lobby into a new contemporary space. This again involved upgrading the services and finishes with new bespoke furniture.
THE RESULT
Despite the operational difficulties and the tight schedule, this contract was completed on time and on budget.
