'Town Hall'

Islington Town Hall

CLIENT: Islington Council
CONSULTANT: Islington Council Architects Dept.
LOCATION: Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, N1

OUR ROLE

Refurbishment of public conveniences, staff toilets and showers.

THE PROJECT

The contract involved the refurbishment of public conveniences, staff toilets and showers, including door automation and lighting, to DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliant standard.
This project was carried out by our Specialist Small Works Division spread over three-phases. Since the town hall had to remain operational throughout the contract, the works had to be undertaken between the hours of 11pm and 5.30am. A further complication was the fact that this is a listed building and all works were therefore carried out under strict supervision of English Heritage.

THE RESULT

It was completed on schedule and to budget.
