Highlands Primary School

CLIENT: London Borough of Redbridge
CONSULTANT: JCMT Architects
LOCATION: Highlands Primary School, IG1

OUR ROLE

Design & Build of a Multi purpose classroom, corridor, and WC extension

THE PROJECT

With the works being carried out while the school was operational, it proved to be quite a challenge maintaining services as well as taking great care with the planning & construction to ensure minimal disruption to the safety, welfare and comfort to pupils, staff, and visitors.

The multi-purpose classroom involved erecting a conventional cavity brickwork superstructure, a pot beam concrete ground floor with a high performance felt roof.

Automatic glazed roof lighted were installed along with access control doors.

The scheme also involved a commercial air handling system to the kitchen, a new toilet block and a new IT suite with interactive white boards. Part of the contract also called for substantial landscaping.
